Out Here...

Hey everyone! So, it's been a very, very, incredibly long time since I have updated this blog. For those that care, I am terribly sorry. Life's been busy, you know? With all the stresses of life, building portfolios, being rejected from opportunities, becoming jobless... life can be a stressful bloody nightmare. But I stand strong. I have been working on a project that I am really excited for that i plan to pitch to a video game company one of these days, so i'm building a design portfolio based off of the idea. Right now, I am making it into a graphic novel (or at least thats the plan.) I have mentioned the punk wasteland before, so here is a drawing for it. It is my first pass at a cover for the first book.

I will keep you informed on the progression of tis project. I hope you guys like what you see, Until next time...

I applied for an opportunity to exchange with another student in another part of the WORLD!!!! AAHHH!!! Aint that a hoot? Calarts runs an exchange program with Gobelins, an amazing art school in paris, and I was asked to apply. I'm excited to hear back. But, I felt it would be fun to share my portfolio with you guys. No harm in that, right?

This is just cool

A long time ago, i had a dream about this world that looked like the American south after a nuclear attack.  The towns that stood or were build after the destruction of the world is run by anarchist gangs and drug lords. Its a type of punk wasteland. This world has stuck with me as a potential project. So I've been doing designs for it since last year. Here is a concept character for this world: 

More coming soon! I'm excited to work on this world some more. Gives me some Visual Development practice :)

I survived the Reckoning

Film season has come to an end. My film was screened last saturday at CalArts at the open show. It was 92% finished, however it was received well and people did not make fun of it during the screening. I feel respected, and I feel like I accomplished something huge.
Screening your work and getting the reaction you hoped for makes the massive struggle worth it. I had a great time. I brought my girlfriend to the 12 hour screening so she could see all the films and she had a great time. We all did. I'm very happy right now... and a little at peace.

So now I have to finish the film by may 17th so I can submit it to Ottawa and other festivals. WWWOOOOOOO!!!

Until then, these are some sketches I did while I was in film season. As you can see, It isn't a lot. The film season took up all my time so I couldn't draw leisurely.
