I guess in great simplicity, this is my art blog. Here, I post up my art work and animations to show to the world. Everything posted on this blog is made by me unless stated otherwise. Enjoy the show and i hope you get a kick out of my work.
I was at Calarts today and I walked into a life drawing class. I haven't done this in a while, and it felt good to draw again:
So that you guys know, the 48 hour film screening is happening tomorrow at Calarts in the palace at 10:00 pm. There will be a lot of great films and the festivities will be stupendous. You all should attend (but dont expect to be spoon fed drinks. you may have to bring your own to give to the film makers.) :) Enjoy the show!
Hey, everyone. I am currently locked down on the calarts campus working on a 48 hour film. The topic this year is "duck." I'm living in my friends cube, eating day old Tiki Massala and bagels, and showing in a sink. It's beautiful. I miss doing this. We have almost reached the 24 hour mark and I have slept a total of 4 hours. That's ok, i was planning on sleeping less, but my body wasn't gonna let that fly.
Anywho, here are the designs for the film:
Due to time restraints, the actual animation won't have the quality that the original designs have... but bone it. 48 hours really aint all that long.
Anywho, hope you're all well. I'll post the film when it's done and after the screening has happened. Enjoy the show.
Hey everyone. I'm just eating some stale tortilla chips watching "My Name is Earl." I'm trying to get a story portfolio together, whilst I am swarmed with a crap ton of other stuff on a gnarly list of things that I need to get done.
I wanna show you guys some rough, 1st pass boards from a project I'm working on for my portfolio. I'ma save giving away the story for when the boards are complete.
Here are a couple:
I think these aren't too bad for a first pass, so I'm excited to see it blossom a tad more. Hope you're all well.
DUDE! I am wicked sorry I haven't talked to you in a while! How are you? I'm sorry, I've just been so busy! Man do I have sstttoorriieeesss!
Ok, so. As of my last post, I have been on academic leave from Calarts (due to financial woes and poor academic decisions) I have spent the summer doing freelance storyboard work for nickelodeon, I have been working on improving my portfolios (both design and story) and I have been doing stuff for my the show I want to pitch. I just completed a story test for Cartoon Network (the regular show) and I am waiting on that. I am also applying for jobs all over the animation circuit.
SO..... I've been busy. My life has been swamped with all these strange events and antics. It's kind of amazing. I don't have time for much of anything else between portfolios, homework and job apps (so my blog posting suffers.) I've never felt this busy... but i'm taking steps to my career and I know that I am doing the right thing, making the right choices and setting my priorities... <----- this here.. this is a confession of a starving, self conscious artist. As you can see... totally nervous as FFUUCCKKK!!!
Anyways, here is some stuff I have drawn. Just wanted to keep you posted with some of the fun adventures I have had from my computer screen.
For anybody that doesn't know, Commedia Dell'Arte is a form of mask theatre, known to possess the original archetypes of comical characters in all forms of entertainment. All comical characters from entertainment posses aspects of these characters, from Bugs bunny to Bart Simpson.
Anyways, I did some character designs of some of the characters found in Commedia (I made them impish too... not sure why.)
From left to right:
I would love to see some traditional commedia theatre, one day. Probably be hilarious.
it's been a while. Sorry about that.... I've been busy doing freelance, and it being studio work, I can't show you guys what I have been doing. So, over the last couple of days, I doodled around with some more stuff.
You guys are prolly sick of seeing him, but I did some redesigns of Andy for my potential show pitch. These are just some stuff of him and his god buddy Jimmy.
I've had no time to work on this much, but I hope that I can make some time to write an episode (and maybe even board it.) Hope you are all doin well.
A bunch of my friends are coming over on Sunday for a big ass lan party. I'm so... so excited. This feels like the event of the summer for me due to it's extreme magnitude.
Anyways, I did a drawing for it because I was too excited not to:
Everyone... play some video games this sunday. Make it your day of elves, galactic battles, sandbox chaos, espionage, post apocalypse surviving, first person high tech mayhem and bubbly cartoon characters punching each other till they take enough damage that they defy gravity and fly out of the ring and explode in a big shaft of light.
So, as you may or may not know, I'm working on pitching something to a network for a TV show. I'm not gonna tell you much about it (or anything at all) but I will show you this. I spent all day on this.
So, it's been about three or four weeks since school let out? Since then, I've been neck deep in stuff. I've been doing board work for Nickelodeon, working on material for a TV show pitch, going out to places and drawing, partying, going to the beech, spending time OUTDOORS! It feels like it's been forever since I've seen the sun.
Any way, I've been busy and I'm feeling pretty awesome right about now. Here are some drawings I've done over the last couple of weeks.
It's quite an exciting time for me, and I'm happy to share my drawings with you guys.
The other day, I was thinking about the experiences I've had, my accomplishments, my failures, my weird life I have lived (that honestly is about as strange as anybodies, really) and through a conversation I had with a friend about growth, I did a drawing that is somewhat autobiographical. I hope you guys don't mind learning a little bit about my life, cus the fine print is full of my weird adventures with love and money.
The producer show is just around the corner and my film gonna be seen by folks all over the industry. It's pretty awesome. I have some drawings for you guys, as well as the show cards I am showing at the show. Take a LOOOOK!!!
Just wanted to share my life with you a little. I love you.
