The DC Universe Prt 1

Hey guys! For the past couple of weeks, I've been doing drawings of some of my favorite DC characters. It's been just a fun project to do on the side as I look for work. Here are the first four of the collection. I plan to make many, many more. Here you go!
The Flash!
Green Arrow!

Black Adam!

Zatanna!

This is just a start. I am free again, so maybe I'll have time to do more. Peace be unto you. Enjoy the show!

I Did This Today

I was at Calarts today and I walked into a life drawing class. I haven't done this in a while, and it felt good to draw again:

So that you guys know, the 48 hour film screening is happening tomorrow at Calarts in the palace at 10:00 pm. There will be a lot of great films and the festivities will be stupendous. You all should attend (but dont expect to be spoon fed drinks. you may have to bring your own to give to the film makers.) :) Enjoy the show!

48 hour films, pre production

Hey, everyone. I am currently locked down on the calarts campus working on a 48 hour film. The topic this year is "duck." I'm living in my friends cube, eating day old Tiki Massala and bagels, and showing in a sink. It's beautiful. I miss doing this. We have almost reached the 24 hour mark and I have slept a total of 4 hours. That's ok, i was planning on sleeping less, but my body wasn't gonna let that fly.

Anywho, here are the designs for the film:

Due to time restraints, the actual animation won't have the quality that the original designs have... but bone it. 48 hours really aint all that long.

Anywho, hope you're all well. I'll post the film when it's done and after the screening has happened. Enjoy the show.

Boards from HELL!

Hey everyone. I'm just eating some stale tortilla chips watching "My Name is Earl." I'm trying to get a story portfolio together, whilst I am swarmed with a crap ton of other stuff on a gnarly list of things that I need to get done.
I wanna show you guys some rough, 1st pass boards from a project I'm working on for my portfolio. I'ma save giving away the story for when the boards are complete.
Here are a couple:

I think these aren't too bad for a first pass, so I'm excited to see it blossom a tad more. Hope you're all well.
I love you.

Enjoy the show!

OH MY GOD, DUDE! I am soooo sorry!

DUDE! I am wicked sorry I haven't talked to you in a while! How are you? I'm sorry, I've just been so busy! Man do I have sstttoorriieeesss!

Ok, so. As of my last post, I have been on academic leave from Calarts (due to financial woes and poor academic decisions) I have spent the summer doing freelance storyboard work for nickelodeon, I have been working on improving my portfolios (both design and story) and I have been doing stuff for my the show I want to pitch. I just completed a story test for Cartoon Network (the regular show) and I am waiting on that. I am also applying for jobs all over the animation circuit.
SO..... I've been busy. My life has been swamped with all these strange events and antics. It's kind of amazing. I don't have time for much of anything else between portfolios, homework and job apps (so my blog posting suffers.) I've never felt this busy... but i'm taking steps to my career and I know that I am doing the right thing, making the right choices and setting my priorities... <----- this here.. this is a confession of a starving, self conscious artist. As you can see... totally nervous as FFUUCCKKK!!!

Anyways, here is some stuff I have drawn. Just wanted to keep you posted with some of the fun adventures I have had from my computer screen.

Just sum sshheeiiittt.

As always... enjoy the show!

Commedia Dell'Arte

Anybody wanna laugh?

For anybody that doesn't know, Commedia Dell'Arte is a form of mask theatre, known to possess the original archetypes of comical characters in all forms of entertainment. All comical characters from entertainment posses aspects of these characters, from Bugs bunny to Bart Simpson.

Anyways, I did some character designs of some of the characters found in Commedia (I made them impish too... not sure why.)

From left to right:
Arlecchino
Pantelone
Dottore
Brighella
Pagliacci

I would love to see some traditional commedia theatre, one day. Probably be hilarious.
Enjoy the show.
